Establishment Loses Lawsuit Again

They trashed our Constitution and spent how much to do it?!?!?

Dear Fellow Conservatives,

The Federal District Court of South Carolina has once again ruled in favor of the Freedom Caucus, upholding its previous ruling that politicians in Columbia passed
unconstitutional laws to stifle free speech.

After being thoroughly trounced in the Court’s first ruling, the career politicians desperate to maintain their grip on power asked the Court to reconsider its decision… and eliminate the Freedom Caucus altogether.

Taking a page out of Biden's playbook, the Establishment tried to weaponize
government to all but eradicate conservative opposition to the failed status quo.

If you recall, the South Carolina Freedom Caucus was forced to sue when we were threatened with fines, arrest, and even removal from office if we dared donate to or endorse conservative candidates running for office.

In the Court’s decision denying the motion to reconsider and upholding the Freedom Caucus’ victory, the Court slammed the Establishment’s latest lies that the upholding of our Constitution somehow left a “gaping hole” in our state’s ethics laws and allowed the Freedom Caucus to raise unlimited funds from unlimited sources.

Clearly stated in the order, Judge Currie pushed back on the Establishment’s fabrications and asserted that the Freedom Caucus “will... be subject to the limitations currently imposed on legislative caucuses” and that the Freedom Caucus is “subject to the same limitations... with regard to elections and ballot measures, contributions... and records that must be maintained.”

If this lawsuit has proven anything, it’s that the powerful politicians, prodded on by their lobbyist friends, will do anything to maintain the failed status quo in Columbia. 

They will weaponize state law to tamp out opposition. They will threaten conservatives with fines, jail, or removal from office if they advocate for conservative policies or candidates. They will lie about court rulings for their own gain. And… they will spend TAXPAYER money to do it.

That’s right, the Establishment in Columbia spent $200,000 in taxpayer money to defend an unconstitutional law that violated Freedom of Speech and Equal Protection - and then doubled down even when they knew they were grasping at straws.

The career politicians in Columbia have no shame. They pass laws that violate the Constitution and disrespect the genius of our Founding Fathers. Then, they fight for those laws in court in a desperate attempt to silence the opposition. And they couldn't care less.

We are grateful for yet another win as we work to restore respect for the Constitution and battle the swamp. But this victory for conservatism and free speech hasn’t come without its cost.

Just this month, Freedom Caucus members across the state have been targeted with even more mailers full of lies and smears paid for by dark money groups with ties to the Columbia Establishment. The swamp is livid that we are threatening their gravy train by bringing transparency and accountability to state government - especially as it regards the budget. They’re now saying they are willing to spend any amount of money to get rid of legislators in the Freedom Caucus.
