We celebrate the US Supreme Court’s decision to confirm that South Carolina has the right to withhold tax payer funds from abortion mills. Organizations like Planned Parenthood not only kills infants in the womb but have become the most prolific dispenser of chemical castration and sterilization chemicals to children. They don’t deserve a dime of tax payer money. Members of the SCFC have been fighting to keep this money out of the state’s budget for years, particularly Rep Josiah Magnuson.
That’s the great news. What you may not have heard, thousands of babies are still dying from elective abortions in South Carolina every year. That’s more than 40 a week; more than 5 every day. Even worse, despite this court ruling, many of those elective abortions will still be paid for by tax dollars through the state employee health plan. Members of SCFC and the Family Caucus have introduced budget amendments and several bills to end this tragedy in our state.
Unfortunately, the majority of the other Republicans in the House voted against bringing any of these measures to the floor this year for debate or a vote. In fact, many of them publicly attacked and slandered fellow Republicans for standing up to protect the unborn. While we should rightly celebrate today’s SCOTUS ruling, we should also let it fuel our persistence to defend the defenseless and stand up for the simple truth in the SC Republican Platform: human life begins at conception.
Thank you for fighting for good in our state. Praying for all of you. Do not weary of doing good and get discouraged. You’re on God’s team.
Great news indeed. Keep up your fight against evil and the so-called Republicans, who are really Uni-party members. Hopefully, more SC voters will wake up and remove the RINOs from office. Light and Truth will prevail.
