Earlier this week, our SC Freedom Caucus Chairman Adam Morgan’s bombshell revelation that SC state agencies were knowingly distributing voter registration forms to non-citizens went viral.
Immediately, we sprang into action and FC Member Rep Jordan Pace (R-Berkeley) sent a letter to the House Legislative Oversight Committee requesting that they open an investigation. Media outlets began covering the developing story and bringing attention to this serious threat to election integrity in the Palmetto State.
Because the Medicaid Office under the SC Department of Health and Human Services was the agency responsible and this agency falls under the Executive Branch, we sent a letter to Governor Henry McMaster asking him to immediately investigate these allegations and issue an order halting agencies from distributing these forms to non-citizens.
Governor McMaster responded swiftly to our letter and requested SLED (the State Law Enforcement Division) to open an investigation. The refugee’s family are now set to meet with law enforcement in the coming week to share their story.
Election integrity is national security, and we must ensure our state conducts free and fair elections. Thankfully, the SC Legislature is committed to doing just that. A constitutional amendment referendum to prohibit non-citizens from voting in elections at any level in South Carolina just unanimously passed the House. It is now up to you, the voters, to adopt this important initiative at the ballot box.
Over the last couple weeks left-wing activists have argued that this issue of non-citizen voters in our elections was a non-issue. Then we discovered our own state government is distributing registration forms to non-citizens. Increasingly these “non-issues” are turning out to be major issues.
Thank Governor McMaster for taking these threats to our elections seriously and help get the word out to vote for the amendment to prohibit non-citizens from voting in our elections!
For Liberty,
The South Carolina Freedom Caucus
It is not enough to stop illegals and other non-citizens from voting. They also should be stopped from receiving any taxpayer paid benefits or entitlements, including public education. They should not be allowed to get driver licenses. Freedom Caucus, better yet, pass a bill prohibiting illegal aliens from living here. They have no love or respect for this country or state and have no desire to assimilate. They won't even speak English. NO border, NO culture NO language = NO COUNTRY
This is great but really doesn't change much. There needs to be processes and procedures put in place as well as accountability to deter this. There needs to be a designation on a license of citzenship status for one. Also, why the repeated mailing to sign people up to reigster?
