Well said, Jordan.

I learned many years ago in Econ 101 that any time government interferes with the private free market, it screws everything up. Every time! History does not lie, this has proven out repeatedly.

Our government at every level must stop using hard-earned taxpayer funds to woo new businesses to our state/county/city seeking the holy grail JOBS! In a full-employment economy the private sector has already created enough jobs. New businesses take employees from existing businesses who have paid taxes, cared for families, and sponsored little league team for years, offering a little bit better pay using funds from subsidies, tax breaks, and infrastructure paid by taxpayers, including the existing businesses! Does this make any sense?

Trust me, if a business model offers a legitimate profit opportunity, entrepreneurs will fight tooth and nail to be first and best to the market. If government subsidy is needed, the business model is not legit, and you can bet somebody is taking advantage with somebody else's money.

Bill S.318, https://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess126_2025-2026/bills/318.htm and a similar bill in the house, https://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess126_2025-2026/bills/3926.htm, is a joint resolution that enacts a "Commission on Fiscal Restraint and Government Efficiency." As I write this, it is sponsored by Senators Goldfinch, Alexander, Johnson, Fernandez, Gambrell, Stubbs, Grooms, Climer, Leber, Cash, Kimbrell, Davis, Young, Peeler, Corbin and Turner. I assume this is the state legislator's response to the DOGE activity. I'll write about this bill on my substack today. It has a lot of issues and, if this is the response of the legislature to replicate DOGE, it falls short. I would like the sponsors to defend the bill in comments on my website. The SCFC should respond specifically to this bill and my analysis. https://aletheiatheyounger.substack.com
