Tampons for Men? SC Freedom Caucus Says No!

It’s a scientific fact that men don’t menstruate. They never have and never will!

But in the latest example of woke nonsense infiltrating higher education, tampon dispensers were recently installed in men’s restrooms at Clemson University… MEN’s restrooms.

Clemson University is a taxpayer-funded institution that has become well-known for its over-the-top woke Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies, so this recent stunt to further diminish women should come as no surprise.

Luckily, members of the Clemson University College Republicans brought the politically-placed dispensers to the attention of Freedom Caucus Member April Cromer of Anderson. Representative Cromer quickly contacted the University and demanded the dispensers be removed. Because of her efforts – and to the credit of the University’s President and Board members – the dispensers were gone by close of business that day.

In the ongoing struggle between sane and insane, conservatives cannot give an inch to the woke Left.

This is yet another example of why the SC Freedom Caucus is so important: our members don’t just fight on the House floor for conservative policy, but we work just as hard to protect our conservative values out of session, too.

So why do liberals think they can get away with redefining basic biology, letting men play women’s sports, or forcing you to let biological males use the same locker room as your daughter or granddaughter? Because up to this point, the ruling coalition of liberal Republicans and progressive Democrats has let them.

Take for example a recent debate during the 2023 budget. Members of the Freedom Caucus led the charge to defund Clemson’s $2.4 million DEI office and prohibit DEI training with a narrowly-tailored proviso. But the liberals and RINOs teamed up to table our amendments, allowing this woke nonsense to persist on the taxpayer’s dime. (See the vote on the Clemson DEI proviso here.) In other words, YOU are still paying for “equity” training that teaches college students - not only at Clemson but at almost every public university in South Carolina - to see the world through a lens of victimhood on the basis of race, gender, and sexual orientation.

Of course, the ruling coalition is angry that we’re exposing these votes and showing that real wins are possible rather than mere lip service during campaign season.

Because of Representative Cromer’s bold efforts, she’s been the target of thousands of dollars’ worth of dark money attack ads. Representative Cromer, and every member of the Freedom Caucus, are a threat to the failed status quo. The Establishment will stop at nothing to preserve their power and silence the most conservative fighters in our State House.
