Your calls are working!
Early this week, we sounded the alarm on House Leadership’s marquee tax proposal (H.4216) which would raise taxes for the majority of the state, including blue collar, middle class families.
Since then, 9 Republicans have pulled their name from this bill! They all deserve our thanks for being free-thinking legislators who listened to the will of their constituents.
The bill received a hearing Thursday during the full Ways and Means Committee meeting hearing where the committee decided to adjourn debate on the bill.
While this is a huge victory, it does not mean the bill is dead. Your efforts so far have made the difference but we need you to continue contacting your representatives and tell them to rather fix this bill by not increasing taxes on the majority of the state or come up with a new plan.
Ultimately, to reduce taxes, we have to cut spending. The House and Senate still have and opportunity to cut spending and taxes this session if leadership is willing to forgo their pork projects and shrink the size of government.
And be sure to thank the Republicans who pulled their support from this bill: https://www.scstatehouse.gov/4216
Well, a victory in the ongoing battle against the RINO/Uni-party. Like trying to keep from appointing that Fauci clone, Simmer, as health czar. Always a fight against so-called Republicans, putting the screws to Republican taxpayers. Even when they pass a bill we want they add to it, subtract from it, so it is not what we, the people, wanted. Do these Columbia Clowns really think we're that stupid and uniformed about what's really going on? I hope that Republican voters start waking up in large numbers for the '26 elections. We need some big changes in whom we send to Columbia. Is SC actually a Republican red state?
At least we have the too few members of the SC Freedom Caucus we can depend on. Thank you.
