"Militia" was in fact the citizenry, who were expected to be armed for the common self-defense. No standing army existed. Well regulated, by the way, meant that certain standards of firearms and ammo were to be used when possible.
The well regulated militia would be the National Guard. We don’t need citizens going out in streets fighting other citizens, it would just be mass murder.
OUR Founding Fathers explicitly EXCLUDED any Standing Armies (controlled by The State) when referring to “The Right of The People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”
NG ≠ “well trained, well furnished private citizenry”.
While every individual who compromises the “people” of the United States has a right to keep and bear arms, as a practical and legal matter, not every member of the “people” is necessarily eligible for militia service. Nevertheless, the broader right to keep and bear arms enables the maintenance of a well-regulated militia by ensuring that the body of citizens from whom the militia must be drawn is armed and experienced in the use of those arms. Moreover, the larger body of a people who are both numerous and armed stand as a check against any attempt by the government to form “select militias” or neglect the training or activating of the militia altogether.
Genocidal enabling anti right to self protect, pro confiscation nuts are the ONLY one who don’t care how MANY suicides or homicides occur, UNLESS they have a “gun to blame”.
In ALL 27 states where Constitutional Carry has been in force, violent crimes have DECREASED.
YES, More “armed bystanders” Save Lives, every single time. And GFZs FAIL to protect. Avg deaths drop from 14.3 (when waiting on the cops) to only 2.3 (when an armed bystander removes the death causing threat).
Thank you SCFC for pushing for a clean Constitutional Carry bill. It is an affirmation of the Second Amendment-- ..."shall not be infringed".
Exactly!
You always forget Well Regulated! 2A was for militia not citizens!
You are historically incorrect.

It’s that” select militia”, need to take note of
Hey more guns will make more people safe, right? I mean our homicides, suicides and mass shootings have gone up since gun sales have gone up.
